PHIL KESSEL
BOSTON BRUINS
2006/07
PRIMARY HOME BLACK
Kessel was drafted 5th overall by the Bruins in the 2006 draft. Although he made the team immediately his career got off to slow start as in his first two seasons he scored only 11 and 19 goals respectively. However in 2008/09 he found his groove, scoring 36 goals in only 70 games. The Bruins and Kessel were far apart on negotiations for his second contract, so on September 18, 2009 Kessel was dealt to the Leafs for a package of draft picks that became Tyler Seguin, Dougie Hamilton, and Jared Knight.
